There are a lot of “cool” photographers out there, and I am definitely not one of them. So, when I meet a couple that embraces their inner nerd (and their families embrace this as well), it warms my heart. It’s clear that these two lovebirds are comfortable with themselves, and have a great connection and chemistry. They just smiled at their reception as jokes were made about video-gaming, such as playing Sportsball instead of professional sports watching & stories were told about fun past-times hanging out and nerding-out together.
This beautiful bride organized her wedding by herself, picking out every element – including the flowers. What an excellent job she did! Her details complimented the beauty of the Sunken Gardens, while maintaining a pretty and laid-back vibe that made the day so fun to photograph! She was gorgeous in her Stella York dress from The White Closet Bridal. It’s lace top and fluffy layered bottom were SO perfect for twirling and dancing the night away. Her hair and makeup done by the always awesome Destiny and Light Hair & Makeup Group.
The bridesmaids wore pinkish-lavender dresses from Azazie in different styles, and the bride and her girls carried bouquets from The Boqus Co., which they put together themselves (from the Heartfelt DIY Collection)!
The groom wore Perry Ellis attire. He and the groomsmen had ties that coordinated with the bridesmaid dresses. Their boutineers were also DIY with flowers from The Boqus Co.
After getting ready, the day began with an oh-so romantic first look under a lush tropical forrest in the middle of the Sunken Gardens. Then, we had a blast photographing portraits of the bridal party, followed by family portraits. After that, we took many stunning portraits of the lovely bride and groom around the gardens, and finished just in time to give them a little break before the start of their ceremony.
Their close friend officiated the ceremony, and made it short and sweet. It was followed by a cocktail hour under twinkle lights in the middle of the Sunken Gardens, where the bride and groom and their guests feasted on delicious appetizers by Delectables Fine Catering. Day-of coordination was provided by Once Upon an Event of Tampa Bay, who helped make sure that all of the bride’s details were organized and displayed perfectly on her special day.
The reception was held upstairs in the Sunken Gardens ballroom, which was decorated with an abundance of succulents, more twinkle lights, and the cutest cake and pie bar I ever did see. The cake from Alessi Bakery was decorated with hand-made sugar succulents in a variety of colors – complimenting those in the bouquets and decorating the reception tables.
The bride and groom and their families and guests danced the night away with DJing by Second Son Productions. Enjoy the photos of this fabulous and happy wedding celebration, and congrats to these two lovebirds – wishing you all an amazing married life and much fun together!
